Hotel bookings for visa applications
Most visitor visas ask where you'll stay. You can show this for free, and you don't need a fake hotel confirmation to do it.
Use free-cancellation reservations
Many hotel booking platforms and hotel websites offer rooms with free cancellation and pay at the property. That gives you a genuine reservation, in your name, that the consulate can verify, with nothing charged up front.
- Filter for "free cancellation" and "no prepayment".
- Note the cancellation deadline, and set a reminder if your plans change.
- Book in the applicant's name. For couples or families, make sure every traveller is covered.
Staying with family or friends
Instead of a hotel booking, provide an invitation letter from your host. It should include their address, their immigration or residence status, your relationship, and the dates you'll stay. Some countries have an official form for this, such as Germany's Verpflichtungserklärung or France's attestation d'accueil.
Make the dates line up
The most common problem isn't a missing booking. It's dates that don't match. Check that your first night starts on your arrival date, every night is covered, and your last checkout matches your departure flight.
Our itinerary builder works out the nights for each stay, which makes gaps easy to spot.
